Royal Icing

Phew Roayl Icing is tricky.
I just finished a 2 day course in royal icing at Squires Kitchen in Farnham. I think I may need to practise a bit (christmas cake anyone?). This was the cake we made in the 2 days and due to the time constraints we could only do 1 coat of icing, it would be much smoother with 2... and it's decorated for someone's grandma.... 30 years ago. But still lots of techniques practised which was the aim of the day.

First time I've modelled a figure out of sugar paste, probably should have chosen something a bit easier first but I think she came out well.
